⁴ David was thirty years old^(A) when he became king, and he reigned^(B) forty^(C) years.

⁵ In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months,^(A) and in Jerusalem he reigned over all Israel and Judah thirty-three years.

²⁸ He died^(A) at a good old age, having enjoyed long life, wealth and honor. His son Solomon succeeded him as king.^(B)
